Hello there! Welcome to Bearded Foodie’s Kitchen. My name is Matt a.k.a. the Bearded Foodie and I’m very happy you’re here. I am a self-taught cook on a mission to spread health, joy, and love through food. Thank you for joining me on this journey!
I love food. I know so many people say that, but really, I LOVE food. Few things bring me joy like sitting down to a meal with the people that are important in my life. I come from a “foodie” family that gathers around food and talks about food while we break bread. Being self-taught, I take influence in my cooking from my childhood, cookbooks, cooking blogs, restaurants, and everything in between.
On this journey, we will explore a wide of range of foods, both traditional and twists on classic dishes. I describe my eating habits as Flexitarian. This means I aim to eat many vegetarian and vegan meals, but I also have meals with animal protein. The content you will see here will be as varied as my eating habits! I cook with as many whole foods and locally sourced ingredients that I can, and I can encourage you to do so too. Though many dishes here will be healthful, I fully believe we need to indulge on occasion to maintain our sanity and feed our souls. We will play with those soul-satisfying meal too!
